A sedentary Peacock.

I know it looks odd but this a hibernating butterfly which has not chosen a very safe place to over-winter, on the door into the sitting room with another inches away to the left. I do not know why it has not been knocked off accidentally. We have numerous Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell butterflies which use our house as a refuge but very few survive to fly outside next year. This one has survived three weeks so far.
