Last night I did something that my heart knew to be right but hurt like hell to do. I played the ace of hearts and hoped for light.

Today I took that ace and laid it down in front of one in need. Without expectation, without agenda, with love and compassion.

I left that meeting drained, exhausted and yet lighter than I have been in a long time.
