Busy at work getting old bit of equipment (to do georesistivity measurements) to work again. Actually nothing wrong with the equipment but the controller. They relied on old laptops (from 15+ years ago). We kept telling them that they need to sort something out. Well it came to a head when one laptop got rather wet and the other antique was dropped. Raspberry Pi (top right circuit board) with a serial connector (top left circuit board) to the rescue. The ARM CPU on the pi is good enough to totally emulate a 20 year old x86 CPU. We get to do some shopping now to make a nice case for it (probably not as nice as the one above). And the bit of equipment can be used for another few decades.

The bed is now fully built and we need to consider what other storage they need to keep all their stuff. It's been quite epic but we can certainly see an end now.
