~Sunspots, Cactus, Asphalt, and Heat~

~The Road Home~

Left Blythe, California at 5AM to get a break on the heat in the Sonora Desert.

Sunspots - Heading east this morning I had to stare into the morning sun for about 2 hours, that hurts the brain and impedes your road vision.
Cactus - Glad to see my old friends, means I'm getting closer to home. Though having a choice, I'd keep on riding, and traveling, and riding some more. God knows I love the road and seeing new land and skies.
Asphalt - As I have said, I am the "The Asphalt Cowboy"! Living that life comes natural to me, not forced or contrived. Part of being me is loving the road, meeting strangers and making them friends, and being on ol' No.9, alone with my thoughts.
Heat - Most people I meet want to know how I stand the hot heat of being on the rode in the desert in the summer. It's a price one pays for being a rode junkie. A little tip here, the more you think about how hot it is, the hotter it gets! BikerJim loves to not think, lol!

Had to stop for a little "break" about 30 miles away for the old ranch house, couldn't hold it any longer! This condition can really affect ones ability to concentrate on riding, being safe and being alert. Once I returned to a normal state, I decided to do a quick welcome home and a safe trip self-portrait. When I had finished with the shot, put my camera gear away and climbed back in the saddle again for the short sprint home, I was soaked under this leathers! Even though it is in the high 90's leathers are a must for long distance motorcycle traveling. If I do go down, I will only loose leather and not skin, that's called riding smart.

Lets see?
Tucson, Arizona to Pismo Beach, California with many twists and turns, 2,139 miles. Days on the road 11, high octane fuel 57.82 gallons, one rear tire inter-tube, came home with 342 images on my camera card, will discard half maybe, while on the road probably trashed at least 400 pics. As for The Blip, 11 postings that got 867 views and 88 comments, 11 favs, 3 new subs. Thanks my friends, that keeps me Blipping and imaging. And most amazing to me a total of about 3,000 views for my entire journey, gosh!

Well back home now, and Blipping will be more about my art than about me. Looking forward to finding the beauty, grace and the splendor of the everyday world that surrounds me and my life.

Thanks Friends, TucsonJim

PS: Guess what, I need to put on my road leathers, climb into the saddle and get ol' No.9 and me on the rode again ;o)
