Visit to a lobster farm that somewhere up the chain is owned by the Minister of Fisheries, who is from a rags to riches background and now has investments in various businesses across Indonesia, including Susi Air, a domestic airline that was the subject of a UK documentary for being dodgy. I travelled on Susi Air as part of this trip but lived to tell the tale.

It was interesting to hear the lobster farm workers say they do follow good practice by not accepting wild caught lobsters that are too small (removing juveniles is a good way of making an ecosystem more unproductive), yet still this business was operating with no real plan and no real understanding of its long-term financial or environmental sustainability.

The mining for information wasn't aided by team members who were insistent on taking selfies with lobsters.
