The Champions!

Portland Timbers won the MLS championship on Sunday. Today there was a parade in downtown Portland to celebrate and honor them, then a ceremony later at the Providence Park where they play. We are long time fans, and could not pass up on being a part of this exciting event. Thousands of fans were there, old and young braving the rain. The Timbers are so loved in this city, and it seems they love their fans!
In other news, the next bout of deluge is pummeling us even as I write. The highway toward us was closed for several hours just at evening commute time due to a landslide. Water is everywhere, creeks are flooding. But the big rivers are not, because the reservoirs upriver have been so low, it will take a lot of rain to fill them back up.
