This is what £150 million could buy you - a German-built super-yacht, like this one, privately owned by a Kazakhstani billionaire, Alexander Machkevitch. Launched in July, and last anchored in Holland, it is currently sheltering from the gales in Dartmouth, Devon, before it continues to the Bahamas and Florida.

The 91-metre (300 ft.) vessel, Lady Lara, is supposedly the 51st biggest in the world. I have to say it is really beautiful - such smooth, graceful lines!

It cost me a little less than that to have a cut-and-blow-dry in Dartmouth this morning, but now I, too, am sporting smooth, graceful lines.
