And the running total is........

Well ... it’s certainly been a busy 5 days since launch. The question you most seem to want answered is how much money has been pledged so far. As of the time of this post, the total raised on the Blipfuture website is £35,445 from 296 individual pledges, with almost a thousand people registered to get more information. We know there is still a long way to go, but this is a tremendously encouraging start. Thank you, everyone.  We are now setting up a progress bar on the Blipfuture site so you can check in at any time to see how we are all doing.
 
Thank you for all the positive responses on this journal. We’ve been taking on board what you’ve been saying. We have received quite a number of requests for information on membership numbers, and for more detailed financial information. We are preparing this at the moment, and we expect to be able to get something to you by the weekend.
 
We also realise you are keen to know when and where we will communicate. Some information, such as the additional financial detail, by its very nature must be published through the Blipfuture website. It forms part of our offer. If we do anything like that we will also post on Blip Central so you know that something new has been published and link to the information.
 
We will keep using Blip Central as our main communication channel. It is familiar to users and if the community is successful in taking ownership it will be the main place to exchange information. In case you didn't know already, you can get to the Blip Central Blog at any time by clicking on Activities in the top menu bar. During the funding campaign we will make at least one post per week. Obviously, should something significant happen, such as the opening of donations, we will post as soon as the information is available.  All posts will also be shared via Facebook and Twitter.
 
Again, many thanks for the very positive response and to those members who have pledged already. We want to build on this early momentum so please get to the Blipfuture web site and help move that progress bar along. We’d also encourage you to inform friends and family who visit your journal. They might not be members, but may well be happy to contribute so as to be able to keep checking in on your life! Please don’t wait until the end of the campaign to offer your support. It's important that pledges are made as early as possible.
 
We know some people have indicated a preference to make a donation without going through the crowd funding site.  We are looking at options and will get back to you as soon as we can.
 

Finally, as an example of the kind of thing going on behind the scenes, we are excited to announce that yesterday Companies House completed the incorporation of the Blipfuture C.I.C.  (Community Interest Company). We now actually exist as a proper legal entity! Full details in an update at Blipfuture [www.blipfuture.com].
