Backblip

Another port, another ruin!  We chose this cruise due to all the places to visit from the ancient world.  In Santorini we did a tour to Akrotiri, the site of excavations of a bronze age settlement destroyed in a volcanic eruption. Santorini is an odd place to visit as it is in effect the rim of an old volcano.  So you sail into the bay in the middle of the volcano, go on tour via the tender from the ship by climbing by coach up steep zig-zag roads and then come back via a very steep cable car. Not great when like me you're not good with heights!!!.
