The Beauly Firth
Took this view at 8.0 this morning. It shows the Inner Beauly Firth, with the old South Kessock Ferry Terminal and part of Inverness as a backdrop.
The car and passenger ferry which plied between South Kessock and North Kessock piers stopped in 1981 when the Kessock Bridge was built and opened.
It was a very important day, as we didn't have to drive the 24 miles round the firth to get to Inverness, if we missed the ferry or for some reason it wasn't running. The Bridge was opened by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
She got some welcome as the heavens opened and ( It chucked it down ), much like the weather we have nowadays!!!
So my blip for today is The Beauly Firth.
