You know it's Christmas....

...when Santa comes out.
This Santa ornament belonged to my Nan and Grandad, and for as long as I can remember this was brought out at Christmas. Just this alone makes me feel christmasy and happy as it reminds me of family parties round their house when I was little with all my cousins, playing games and singing carols for presents. My Nan is now in a care home, and when Grandad died Gem rescued this from their house. She collects Christmas decorations and I think this is one of her favourites (she insisted on holding it for the photo so I couldn't break it! ).
I do miss Nans parties (they were definitely more her doing than grumpy Grandads!), but we are having the modern version this weekend in Norwich. I'm sure there will be just as much fun and booze, and the way my cousins are going there will soon be as many kids!
