Empty

Well the rain didn't upset my ride on Sunday, it was a defect in the Forth Road Bridge. As this had happened on Thursday, I hastily rearranged the destination to avoid an extra 60 mile round trip, and we went to Linlithgow in West Lothian instead of Aberdour in Fife.

This is the last Spokes Ride of 2015. The rain has gone, and we have mostly blue skies. It is a little windy, but not overly so the ride out through Kirkliston, Niddry and Faucheldean is only tempered by one slight shower. We have a nice lunch in Linlithgow, which goes on a little bit longer than anticipated.

One the way back, we head down through Philpstoun and the Hopetoun Estate. Its nice and sunny. The wind is on our backs and after the short initial climb, mostly downhill. At the coast, there are excellent views of the two existing bridges, and the new one still being built. (Extra Photo)

From here we head to the access path for the Forth Road bridge and up to the viewing area. From here, you can see the empty Forth Road Bridge.

A nice easy ride back in to Edinburgh along National Cycle Route 1, using the new A90 path and the North Edinburgh cycle network. At Russell Road, we've done a little over 60km.
