Pacific Island clouds

There would be rain later whilst we slept. The first rain of the rainy season and about a month late. Global warming we are told by the locals.
The day had been warm but not too hot. A cool breeze and welcoming water to cool you if you got a bit too warm. In the morning we had walked to the local island to see the graves of the warriors and the caves they used for shelter and security (and to cook and eat the bodies of their enemies.) Later a Kava ceremony where local villagers explained their "no alcohol in villages" rule and how they preferred their social gatherings around a Kava bowl where they celebrated, discussed and joked with each other. It was very sociable and great fun even if the Kava did taste like earthy, dirty dish water. It did guarantee good sleep - they assured us - and it seemed to work. Perhaps the seafood banquet we had later also helped.
