Wonderful Wanaka

This is the Ards Man on the road to Snowy's house! I know he is a bit in shadow, but it is the only photo I took today.

And what a day! First a meeting with acyclinggranny, Mummahen, Kiwikath and Tussocktales at their weekly photography group coffee stop. It was SO great to meet all these lovely blippers!

Acyclinggranny was kind enough to direct us to Snowy's garden - a pilgrimage for me, as Snowy was one of the first blippers I followed nearly two years ago!

The photo shows the gravel path around the lake.

Readers, I cycled. This seems to be a strange, new, outdoorsy me that my friends and colleagues at home would not recognise! Mind you, the Ards Man was not complementary about my cycling skills and had to keep reminding me to stop braking as we sped (or so I thought) down a hill.

We did eventually reach Snowy's famous garden, which more than lived up to expectations! And our wonderful hostess - what can I say? We had refreshments and home-made shortbread and a lovely, if too brief, chat before we had to leave again to get the hired bikes back in time. Thank you so much, Snowy, for your gracious hospitality.

It has been a VERY good day :)
