I watched a policeman in uniform stop his patrol car, get out and walk over to this street sign to place these roses on top. As he walked back to his car he made the sign of the cross across his chest.

It was a very moving moment of private grief and I felt odd taking this photo, like I was intruding.

Still, my curiosity got the better of me because I've never seen a policeman do that before.

UPDATE: A day later and the flowers have gone. Nice
