Long day....
I had a few hours at work this morning and then it was off into Manchester city centre for a meeting. It was a bit of an informal, but nonetheless important one.
We decided to meet under Santa in Albert Square, have a cup of mulled wine and one of those German sausages and have a bit of a chat. But the Christmas Markets were busy and not conducive to a quiet chat. So we went down to the Oast House on Spinningfields where we shared a bottle of Malbec and actually got something done.
By that time the Oast House was heaving and neither of us had had lunch so we decided to go over to Wahaca on Exchange Square to try it out. People had been raving about this restaurant since it had opened and, I have to say, it's didn't disappoint. Delicious food and I met my new best friend, Mr Hibiscus Gin and Tonic which they serve with pepper.
After lunch I decided to chill for a while in Central Library where they have put up all kinds of art installations at the moment. This one has the innerds of a piano onto which a video of bird shadows is projected. As the birds move a computer tracks their flight with sensors and then moves the appropriate piano wires to create sound. Incredibly clever.
