Smile of the day

Today was the day we failed! We often think the boss is asking the impossible but through out we have delivered. Today's task was to remove a tree from the "big house" at Pock, take it to the "new big house" and erect it along the drive there for adorning with Christmas lights. At some 30 odd foot tall some branch damage was sustained in the act of felling it, transporting  some 6 miles on a flatbed trail even more! I forgot to mention it had been growing close to a building so was pretty "onesided" to start with. After two failed attempts to plant it ( one of which had it coming of the lifting gear and effectively being felled again) we had so few undamaged branches we gave up!
Passing the two gate figures seasonally  adorned with Santa hats was about the only smile I got at work today :(
