Harty Triptych

Oh my goodness - look! I've got ART in me blip!

This text is part of the Harty Triptych on a piece by Alun Heslop. The whole piece comprises two wooden "wings" called The Raptor and The Edge and the fragments of text are intended to invoke the idea of flight. This is Capel Fleet raptor viewing area, famous as a spot to see the marsh harrier - the largest breeding population in the UK is here on the exotic Ilse de Sheppey. In 1909 the Short Brothers built an airfield at Eastchurch and aircraft built at Battersea were tested here.

The extra shot is of St Thomas the Apostle at Harty. Bits date back to 1200.

So there ya go. Art, history and natural history in one blip. that's the Full Friday Special
