Dedication's What You Need

Unfortunately, Linton weren't dedicated enough....
Tonight, our village attempted to beat the current world record for the world's largest smartphone orchestra. As I'm typing those words, I realise how surreal it sounds.
We gathered in the hall at the Village College at 7pm. The first half of the evening was an excellent violin recital by Steve Bingham. He does amazing things with an electric violin, recording and playing parts on a loop, layering and building different sounds to create amazing musical pieces. Fantastic!
 After that we practiced all our different parts of 'jingle bells' using our various apps to play keyboards, guitar and percussion, then finally put it all together. Unfortunately we needed 250 people to break the record but there were approximately only 70 of us.
It was a great, fun evening though and I think we all left believing that next time, we really will be record breakers.
