Jewel

In an attempt at Christmas shopping we began at the Balerno Farmers' market and craft fair, where Jewel, a Shetland Pony, was enjoying a snack.

Standing at 10.3 hands high, he is a member of the Ravelrig Centre for Riding For The Disabled and has been there all his 24 years. He was not part of the market, but there to promote the centre and the valuable work that he and his fellow ponies do for children of limited mobility and to remind the public that new volunteers are always welcome.
