It's almost feeling like Christmas
Tonight we went to a carol concert. In the UK, my absolute favourite event of the year is the carol concert we always go to - it was held on Wednesday and I was very sad indeed to be missing it.
This evening's event wasn't quite the same, but it was lovely to go out and the choir were pretty good. I've heard better, and I've heard worse. The audience were encouraged to participate with most of the carols and the words were up on a screen on the stage, some of the spellings weren't quite as normal (Nowell - Noel, Immanuel - Emmanuel). We had all the readings you would have at a carol concert.
I just about held back the tears through 'Once in Royal David's City', which reminded me so much of the nine lessons and carols from Kings College Cambridge, which is always tuned into at home. My husband decreed that we should use some precious internet to try and stream it this year.
The picture isn't quite going to win any awards, but Alex had his first carol concert and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
