it all began here

Visited Whitby with my sister today. Had a fabulous day, though the skies were dull. Ascended the 199 steps up to the little church up there. Love the views from up there, out on to the harbour and along west cliff.
The church of course is looked over by the Abbey, fabulous building to see. So Gothic you can see why Stoker got his Dracula inspiration.
The East Coast is such a wonderful coastline packed with history. Robin Hodds bay further down the coast is famous for its fossils and even a novice such as myself can easily find one or two specimens there.
Had lunch with sister in The Duke of York which is situated at the foot of the steps. Whitby one of my fav places, I never tire of going.
