Fijian waterfall bungee jump
with no rope.
You see, Fiji isn't just about sunshine and beaches. Today we did the cultural bit and visited a local village on the lusher rainier east side of the island. After the compulsory Kava drinking ceremony with the chief, we inspected the school, survived a dance by club bearing warriors, listened to local songs, bought local crafts and joined in community dancing.
The highlight was a river trip in a long boat through rapids and jungle to reach an isolated waterfall and pool. The old guy pictured above lives in a nearby cave and does not usually feature in blips but was persuaded by Margie to break his self imposed purdah on this wananavu occasion.
PS This old guy was mistaken for Sean Connery as he made his way home. Admittedly, it was by a pretty young blond Australian Paediatric Nurse so it doesn't really count...
