3rd Sunday in Advent.

It's coming nearer! Christmas Day will be upon us in no time and in a flash it's over ------- but the caring and sharing should carry on! I do hope 2016 will bring a more settled and wiser world.
The sermon today was concentrated on " Wisdom " , what is wisdom ---- sound of judgement ---- being wise ----- good conduct etc . We can look around us and see things going on around us , some good , some not so good. It is also what we perceive to do with our own life. Points of view this morning on BBC radio 4 was how as a small boy the presenter ( sorry can't remember his name!! Surname Howard!! ) said he was a collecter of books, all types of books. His brother said it was like him having a dinner and not eating it , for the books were rarely read!, his mother complained of the smell in the house, which he felt was because they were often damp, given all the places he collected them from, ie second hand , picked up from thrown away bundles bound between old radio times etc. this made me think of how much we discard in life and how much we hang on to!! Oh no , not just material things , but all the " baggage " we carry around in our heads! If we had " Wisdom " we would get rid of that not needed and concentrate on things that were needed.
Today is dull and drizzly again, doesn't make for a bright feeling does it?
