Ups and Downs

Exciting to get up this morning to a warm house and hot water courtesy of our new heat pump. Hoorah! Queued for the shower and marvelled at the wonders of hot water (3 days without it was enough). Sadly, as it reached the teenagers turn to shower we had a call from our neighbour to say the drains were blocked. So, no shower, no toilet, no water until it was all cleared. Yuck.
To salvage the day I turned to baking and some festive stollen. a minor loss of concentration meant it got a wee bit burnt. But some strategic scraping and a good covering of icing did the trick.
