Confederate Soldier

Arizona fought for the Confederacy as a territory of the United States during the Civil War.  It is safe to assume that Private Lowe was a Confederate soldier.

He is buried in the old Tubac cemetery.  I took a walk through there today.  His grave is one of the few in the very old section with a gravestone.  Some are marked with an old weathered, wooden cross, but most, as you can see in the background, are just piled high with rocks.

It's a stark reminder that while we may be remembered by our immediately family when we are gone, the passing of time may be harsh. What will become of our legacy on earth a century from now?
