12 Months

We’re going for a celebratory meal
tonight. Over it we’ll
replay scenes from our big day;
how the clothes were laid out
on the bed in readiness,
what we had for breakfast/brunch,
(what did we eat – bacon, eggs?
or was it a light lunch,
something simple
to minimise the washing up and mess ?)
how the taxi I’d booked
to get us there on time was late
but when we did arrive we still had to wait
before being ushered in for the ceremony
(which was meaningful and fun).
How did I feel? How did you feel,
twelve months ago? And,
what was the name of that restaurant
we and our few
guests walked around the corner to
for the celebratory meal?
