Better weather in Ayr ...

It's a constant cry in our family - the weather's better in Ayr than in Dunoon. Trouble is, we can see that it's better. Take this morning. As I stopped on my way to a dental appointment to take this view from Dunoon's East Bay prom, the contrast between our gloomy pall and the brightness down the river was all too apparent.

I've been a sucker for space travel since I was 7. I remember reading Dan Dare avidly from an early age. That's what I did after the dentist today - glued to the telly with my coffee.
