THE RECLINING BUDDHA!

Today is one of our last days in Thailand and one of the coolest! We got to go visit the largest reclining Buddha in Thailand! You had to go all the way down to the feet to get the whole statue in one picture! I Had never seen the Buddha laying down before so that was really interesting as well! 90% of Thailand is Buddhist and they have beautiful temples everywhere! You also see Buddhist monks around everywhere in orange robes! Whenever one passes by everyone must make a path for him to get by, and women are not allowed to touch them at all! We also learned that's it's tradition for most young men to become monks for a short time, to learn how to be good and honorable men that can lead their families. The United States is mostly Christian and all you see are churches on every corner, at least in the south! It's so strange to me to not see any steeples or huge chapels around. I wish people at home were as devoted to their religion as they are in Thailand, everyone here seems very reverent and peaceful, and the different religions here seem to get along very well unlike America where theres some tension between religions more often than not.
