SIHK TEMPLE!

Today we got to go visit a Sihk Temple! Probably from the picture you can tell the first thing they had us do was cover our heads with a scarf! We also had to remove our shoes and go through a "cleansing" water fountain before entering the temple. Sikhism reminded me a lot of Christianity, but they have different values concerning things like turning the other cheek etc.. But one thing I really admired about this religion was the services they provided. Everyday they provide a free meal to whoever needs one. We got to tour their humongous kitchen where they make pounds of bread and curry for the needy and it was just amazing! Almost all of the workers were volunteers and people have to sign up months in advance for the chance to work there. Many churches in the United States do something similar and I think it's one of the best things Christians can do. After you take care of people's physical needs you can try and help them with their spiritual needs, which is a universal practice!
