The tops of the Christmas Market stalls in Princes Street Gardens are decorated with trees and pictures of bells, animals or the crib. This one reminds me of the times when a forester used to take us into the woods to choose trees for our church and one for ourselves and the smell of a newly cut tree pervaded the house. Now many places sell trees, which have probably been cut many days before, so it is relatively easy to find a tree. Or so we thought!
I had asked S to wait until I returned home from seeing my parents before buying our Christmas tree. Regrettably leaving it for the few days meant that it was difficult to find a suitable one and we trailed round to five different places before we found one and although it’s not very good it will have to do.
