Flag Day

Today was Flag Day when even more flags than normal came out around the city. All children go to school dressed in traditional clothes, including K who was SO excited by the whole thing (see extra photo too). Since last year lots of children and adults now dress up as peshmerga in honour of those who are fighting and have died.

This afternoon we went to the hairdressers- always a bit of a risk. The hairdresser was from the south and couldn't speak a word of K and I can't speak very much Arabic, so it was even more of a risk. Add on to that, hairdressers here like to do what THEY think you should have done not what YOU want! My hair is now rather short, but it will grow!
