Gloucester Docks

Walking through from the city centre this morning, I had cause to stop as the bridge over the entrance to Victoria Quay was opening to allow this narrow boat through.

I think the thing that amazed me most was how quiet this old swing bridge is. The only noise seemed to be a small bump when it came to rest after closing. It is lovely to see old technologies working as efficiently as the new.
