Winds and Dragons

The WI Mah-jong Group is meeting here tonight so I got the tables out and set up the tiles and the racks. Mah-jong is a game that can be enjoyed at different levels. My grandson was playing successfully when he was six, yet at a more advanced level it can be an interesting challenge for anybody. Part of its charm is the lovely tiles with the winds, dragons, flowers and seasons. It is said that there are as many ways of playing Mah-jong as there are people who play it, so newcomers to our group have to have a crib sheet so that we all play to the same rules.

We always have a happy evening and, unlike when the Chinese play, no real money changes hands!
