off to sea

butties on the prom at Fleetwood today as this trawler was off to sea. The Wyre trawlers have a rich and eventful history. The 'Lord Middleton' was even sold to make razor blades (according to the Taverners anyway!) I love seafaring songs so broke into 'The Whale Fisher's Farewell' as it passed which prompted strange looks from the benchsitters. As l returned to my car l change to 'Song of the Northern Sea' which at least got applause.
