Kitchen Worktop
Earlier in the week the kitchen supplier telephoned to say that the worktops we had chosen had been discontinued and we would need to go to Homebase to choose a different one.
We went into Bishops Stortford early and I managed to get plenty of cake for Oliver’s birthday celebrations on Sunday. I also managed to get the last few bits and pieces that I needed for Christmas presents. I shall wrap everything tomorrow.
We duly went to Homebase to choose a new worktop, it was the one I wanted originally, but my husband was not so keen, which is why we choose a different one. There were two that we liked and today’s picture shows the sample; it is Madura Pearl, although the picture does to do it justice. Then came the difficult bit. The one we chose today was double the price of the original one, so they would need to do a refund and then charge the extra, but as the original worktop had been discontinued no code was available to refund the money! Eventually after much toing and froing and discussion by the managerial staff they discovered that as their supplier had discontinued the worktop, then Homebase had to stand the price of the replacement.
Before we came home we bought two Yew trees, which currently will go one either side of the front door, but they will eventually be planted, along the boundary in the orchard part of the garden.
