Airlie Gardens. Wilmington, NC

The gardens are a year-round attraction, but they are decorated as a light show during the Christmas holidays.  We went last night with my sister.  I need to do these shots in the daytime as well, but these are  of the Bottle Chapel in the gardens.  The main photo is looking into the very small chapel from the back, and the extra is the best I could do with camera I had to capture the outside.  The one showing the inside gives you an idea of all the bottles used and it appears the only products in the walls of the chapel are bottles and some kind of mortar.  The chapel is open to the sky.  The tree inside adds so much beauty and mystical character to the chapel.  It was built in honor of a long-time volunteer at the gardens who moved into an art career.
