She's behind you!!!
So, today was panto day! Each year the teachers put on a very impromptu panto for the children's last day. They spend one staff meeting (that I missed) choosing the theme (Rapunzel), cast and jotting down an outline for each scene. Then two rehearsals this week - one of which I missed, although this didn't seem to matter, as the general feedback seems to be that the second rehearsal bears no resemblance to the first, and the final performance bears little resemblance to either! I hate being on stage, but it's worth it for the enjoyment the children get. Initially I was given the role of Iceland security guard (apparently they always get a reference to the local 'parade' of shops in somewhere) but I couldn't cope with the thought of ad-libbing on my own, so was allowed to join the Gang of Minions instead. At the last minute the cook (also a Minion) produced a crate of bananas and we ran about the children giving them out! They loved it.
All afternoon I was met with cries of 'you were a Minion' to which I, of course, replied 'oh, no I wasn't!'
Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any photos of me in all my Minion glory (luckily we still had Chloe's outfit from a while back, which I just managed to squeeze into), so instead you have a photo of my book corner after it had been tidied by my wonderful monitors for the last time this term.
And now it's the holidays - kickstarted with a cosy pizza/film night with my girls.
(Well done to Joe who managed to shave another second off his 1500m time in Northampton this afternoon. Hope you and Dad enjoy your premier breakfast tomorrow. xx)
