The Federation...

...of Icelandic Industries - A strong network - or so they say.

As I was talking about the fishing industry yesterday I thought it only proper to show you the house of The Federation of the Icelandic Industries - that is all except the fishing - as this federation is the oldest in Iceland. It was founded in 1867 and the house was built in the beginning of the 20th century. It burned in 1986, nearly to the ground, but was rebuilt in its original form and you can't tell the difference on photographs - then of course all the craftsmen in the federation worked on it and they really know how to rebuild a house.

Most of the house is used by the Cathedral of Reykjavik (Dómkirkja) but they sill keep their meeting room in the attic.
