Hitting the wall
Not a good day! The day was spent initially marking student work, which I can cope with but then we the got news from the garage that our family car had developed serious engine problems on account of a broken driving chain. Suffice to day, they have recommended a new engine. As the car is 4 years old though it has done 68k miles, we are querying with Skoda whether this is something to be expected; we are left with the tricky decision of whether to plough more money into a 2nd hand car or cut our losses and buy a new 2nd hand car. Then, this evening we had a sudden crisis when Mrs P attempted to bleed the radiator in one of children's bedrooms (son 2 came back unexpectedly)only to lose the valve nut which slipped through a crack in the floor boards. We then proceeded to retrieve said nut using creative thinking such as the use of a magnet, and various thin implements but ended up having to hoik up the wooden floor board using a screwdriver. Its back working again and fortunately a towel and a bucket has soaked up most of the water. It must have been quite comical to see the antics and panic in the Puke household as the water came gushing out of the radiator. Unfortunately, I didn't capture this epic family crisis on blip!
Oh, and the wall is the one at the bottom of our garden which collapsed! Aghhh!
