A Sasanach's Skye photos

'Quest for Adventure'

Not the best photograph I have ever taken! However it shows something that is new to me. That is the sandy bottom to the sea beyond the rocky shore. I hadn't realized before how extensive the sandy bottom is.

The visiting ship is on a three week block hire from the National Trust for Scotland and is taking their passengers on weekly tours out of Leith to visit the Scottish Islands. Today they visited us here on The Isle of Skye. Yesterday they visited St. Kilda; tomorrow Canna. Those that have booked onto these cruises must think themselves extraordinarily lucky because this summer we are seeing the warmest, driest summer for a long time.

Even today it has been virtually dry all day; just one or two spits and spots once or twice. The sea is a flat calm. Perfeck!
