Life through the lens...

Fill 'er up!

Here in the Southern Rhone, not only do you get a very attractive pump attendant, but you also fill up with wine and not petrol!

This is the Cave Cooperative in Rasteau.Founded in 1925 and one of the most highly regarded in the Rhone area.
Not only do they sell wine by the bottle, but you can bring your own containers and buy wine "en vrac", from the pumps! Usually a basic Red, Rose, or White.
The price can be as little as 1 - 3 euros a litre.
How would this go down at home!

We bought 6 assorted wines in bottles including one of their special sweet red wines.
Also two 10ltr boxes of Vin de Pays de Vaucluse for everyday drinking, at 18.1 euros a box! What a bargain and it tastes better than most supermarket ( no All)
wines at £4.99 a bottle.
The down side is once opened it should be drunk within 2 months, and don't keep the box more than 12 months before opening.
I think we should manage that!
