Nora and Dave's Kitchen
Steve and I drove down to Anacortes for our monthly duplicate bridge gathering. We dropped off presents and Dave drove us to Janet's for the game. Nancy was my partner. We had a good time and both figured we were likely somewhere in the middle of the pack. We were flabbergasted to learn we came in first
Dave, Steve and I headed back to Dave's for dinner. The Seahawks were just finishing their winning game so the family sports fans were chuffed. A few friends came over and we had smoked salmon fettuccine and broccoli. Delicious.
After dinner we opened some presents and just as we finished Helena called. She told us that Arvin had taken a fall and had hurt his hand on a sharp sculpture we have on our front door stoop. The cut was serious enough that she called 911 and they came and took him to the hospital where he got stitches in his hand. She took great care of him and managed to pick up his meds by cab after he was released from the hospital.
We returned home as soon as we could. I was so glad Helena had gotten help for Arvin and took such good care of him. And she waited to call so she wouldn't ruin our bridge day. Thanks Helena. You are the best. Arvin is okay but his hand is quite swollen. It will be awhile before he will be fully healed. Tomorrow we will go see his regular doctor.
