Christmas Carol

Dickens in Deventer is an annual treat since 26 years now during the weekend prior to Christmas. Some streets in the city's centre were closed for this street theatre performed by inhabitants and packed with visitors from all over the Netherlands and neighbouring countries.

Here Scrooge's children sing about their habitat and in the extra's Mr. Pickwick is to hunt a partridge ~ this Dickens' festival was a great treat to me.

Got to Deventer initially for walking some 15 kms with others in the city's environment and then this festival was such an extra treat!
