Bridge number two of my extensive (and quite possibly boring) Bristol Bridge Survey.
This bridge is pretty scary, it's about 6 feet wide and around 60 feet above 7 lanes of roaring traffic (the M32). It is one of the few links between the Bristolian neighbourhoods of Easton (where I live) and St Werburghs (where the hippies live). It is also known as the Bridge of Doom.
There are two options for the pedestrian locally the Bridge of Doom or the Tunnel of Unfortunate Outcomes (essentially a complicated subway woven between motorway and roundabout). Most people opt for the tunnels as the bridge is a favoured spot for a bit mugging.
The photo is of a young mum valiantly tackling one of the four concrete ramps you have to negotiate to cross over. Especially heroic as it was raining at the time.
