Timaru Lighthouse

Picked up Bessie, our camper van, this morning and headed off to explore the South Island. First stop is Timaru, a sleepy town on the coast with a great seafood restaurant. I can recommend the scallops and a glass or two of very respectable Pinot Gris!

Surprisingly high temps which reached 33 degrees today and we are all looking a little singed.

Tonight will be the first night in the van and the wind's blowing up nicely. I'm sleeping in the cab above the driver's seat and I'm hoping the gentle rocking will help me sleep rather than make me feel seasick!
