finally

... after about 2h of sleep, on down the road to Dover to get the 4:20am ferry. Despite the unearthly hour there was quite a queue of people waiting. Unsurprisingly the coffee concession was open.

Most annoying part: not having our passports checked before getting onto the ferry. We positively wanted them checked given the hassle in getting +3/3's!

The children were actually amazingly good given the length and discomfort of the journey. They got the chance to run around a bit on the boat and then back into the car for the last leg to the campsite. Lots of stops at Aire, leisurely pace and we were setting up the tent by 2pm local time.

And then the rain started...
