THE LONE WALKER

om the path to the Weser.
Where Piet Hein and I went too at three o'clock. Along the river we walked for a while, enjoying the last sunshine that came over the hills.
In the morning little jobs we both had to do and did. I have painted the dark brown fir-cones gold, I used an old spray-gun that amazingly still worked.
My job of decorating has been finished now.
On my part the days may stay longer light, the darkness grows on my nerves, I think.

My haiku:

Keep walking I say
To myself, the exercise
Saves the bones of your legs

And the proverb:

Were it not for the bone in the leg, all the world would be carpenters.
