Rainbow over Leith

Another days leave - what riches! I went out for a few messages and had been standing at the bus stop for a couple of minutes looking at the ducks on the water before I thought to raise up mine eyes.

This is allegedly the shortest day of the year; I was interested to check just how short it was and according to the Beeb weather the time between sunrise and sunset in Embra was 6 hrs 57 min. Tomorrow there's a whole extra minute - but then very strange to say that the day length reverts to 6 hr 57 min on the 23rd (6 hr 58 on the 24th, 6 hr 59 on the 25th, since you ask). This curious effect may be down to the cuts on the Beeb, mind.
