Wood Pecker

I had trouble with the auto focus on the camera.. Maybe because it was so frickin cold on Qian Shan (a little information here) A lot of the smaller birds didn't come out well so I settled for this larger woodpecker.

Climbing (on stairs) the mountain was ok but a little steep.. I went up one way and back a different way. The steps on the way down were a little treacherous.. Some of them were about 10cm (4 inches) wide and about 30cm (12 inches) or more high. Hardly enough room to put a foot. THere were a lot of birds and very few peopel.. The whole mountain is dotted with temples so it has a very peaceful feeling.
